Joining and processing examples
Choose the joint and processing arrangement to suit the finished belt dimensions, construction, pulley sizes and installation access. The examples below show available joining methods.
Single-layer finger joint
Fingers are punched into the belt ends, aligned and welded under heat and pressure. This method is used for single-layer constructions. Select the joining method for R-2M0845-AG according to its double-fabric construction and conveyor layout.
Overlapped finger joint
The ends are split into layers, cut into fingers, then overlapped and joined under heat and pressure. Specify the overlap and joint dimensions to suit the belt construction and machine.
Mechanical fastener joint
Metal hooks can be pressed into the belt ends and connected with a rod to make an openable joint. Flat-hook, round-hook and panel types are shown below. Match the fastener to the belt thickness, pulley diameter and clearance.
